Crawl Space Above Bedrooms in 19-32 Pennethorne Close

(I may have the house numbers wrong, but I mean the houses that have bedrooms above the garages in Pennethorne Close)

Hi all,

I live at number 31, and have noticed there's a large (2') gap between the ceiling in my bedroom and my outside roof above. From casual observance as I walk around the estate, I can see that some bedroom ceilings have an access trapdoor, which presumably gives access to this crawl space.

Can anyone who has a ceiling trapdoor confirm this, and tell us how large/useful it is?
