transfer of tenancy

hi all,

just registered. i would like to ask a question that someone might have experiance with.

i've lived on the crown estate since the early 70's in a flat with my parents as tenants.
in a few months they are retiring to ireland so will give up tenacy.

iam now in a position of wanting to take over their tenancy. i do work for a company that is on their key workers list..so hoping this will help my case.

my mother will be contacting the crown tomorrow to find out my position...but was curious if anyone else has been in this situation and how was it resolved?
